Update 27/03/13 the work done on the face is starting to be worth the effort now. Still not perfect, too happy looking at the moment but the likeness is getting closer.
(EDIT: 07/04/13 What the hell was I thinking, this looks nothing like her… please look at the final image to see improvements :D)
I have a few days off from the day job which I am using as a finishing off week. Felicia day Shepard from Mass Effect is a definite to finish this week in time for the Geek & Sundry 1 year anniversary. I shall be adding the G&S logo onto the armour before it’s finished. Anyway you’ll notice the face has changed again slightly as I’m still not happy with it. Getting better now though.

Mouse-X Poster art
I’m working on a piece of art for the Sci-Fi short film Mouse-X. I produced the storyboards and concept art for the film last year. Since then the film has been shot and is currently in post production.
I have been asked to do the poster art based on the original concept piece I did with the main character peering through a large man size mouse hole. The new artwork needs more detail and needs to resemble the actor who plays the main character Anderson.
Here is a section of the work in progress and below that the original concept art. The film has it’s own website now Mouse-X website

Update 08/11/12
Here’s the latest update on the progress of my current painting. Still not got the likeness I’m after yet.
I’ve started the painting now. Although this is a larger painting with other things going on I am concentrating on getting the face right. If I don’t get this part right the painting will be scrapped without wasting any time on the rest of it. It’s looking okay at the moment but I need to put more work into it so I am happy before moving on. I really get a bit uncomfortable about posting unfinished work but maybe someone will appreciate seeing the different stages of progress π
Felicia Day sketch 4
Felicia Day painting preparation sketch 4.
Here’s a sketch of the headshot I will probably use for the painting. I may change the expression slightly when it comes to painting the picture. This one had a bit more time spent on it and I used some darker pencils so it’s a bit smudged but it turned out okay in the end. The paper wore a bit thin in places where I’d overworked some areas.
